On the contrary, in 2016, Shah Rukh Khan was the Bollywood icon with 21.4 per cent of votes
The year 2017 has not been one of the best ones for Salman Khan. With the unexpected failure of Tubelight, the actor is putting all possible efforts to make Tiger Zinda Hai a blockbuster. But here’s a piece of good news for all Bhai fans. As per the annual youth survey conducted by Hindustan Times, Salman Khan has outranked Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar to become the Bollywood icon of 2017. The 51-year old actor received 18.3 per cent votes, thus grabbing the top spot, while Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar earned the second and third spot with 15.3 per cent and 13 per cent votes respectively. Amitabh Bachchan, who recently celebrated his 75th birthday, secured the fourth place with 13.2 per cent votes.
On the contrary, in 2016, Shah Rukh Khan was the Bollywood icon with 21.4 per cent of votes, while Salman and Big B had shared the third spot with 17.2 per cent votes. It’s an interesting thing that all the stars above the age of 50 are the contenders and winners of this survey. This surely indicates that age doesn’t matter as long as you entertain your audience. We have seen how Salman has entertained the classes and masses for over two decades and it’s a well-deserved victory for the Sultan of Bollywood.
On the professional front, post-Tiger Zinda Hai, Salman Khan has an interesting line-up of films like Race 3, Kick 2, Dabangg 3 and a dancing film with Remo D’Souza.
